Hours and hours of research went into the plumbing fixture selections, we were determined [...]

The big bad wolf said to the 3 little pigs, “Let me in, let me in little pig or I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll blow your house in.” Now our house is not made of brick, but with Simpson Strong-Tie we have no fear of the big bad wolf or anything else the [...]

A room with a view

Posted by renee on 17 Mar 2013 / 6 Comments

They have been making windows in America for over 100 [...]

1Over looking the Sierra Foothills is a parcel of land where we plan to build our dream home. But not just any dream home, a home that is built with as much American made materials as possible. Our inspiration came from ABC News with Diane Sawyer's "Made In America" featuring Anders Lewendal, an economist turned builder, constructing a house made entirely from U.S. made products. We think this idea embodies the spirit of the America Dream and is so important in helping our economy grow. We plan to post our experiences, challenges and pictures along the way, capturing first hand what it is like to build a home from American -made materials. We hope this inspires you to think about the daily decisions you make when purchasing goods and materials, and to consider supporting products made in the USA.
